Hi Everyone,

I just recently a purchased a Chevy Avalanche that came with this alarm system and the place where I bought the car from are not much help. I am having problem with some of the functions such as the arming key on the LCD remote does not respond, also as soon as the car turns on doors lock. I have gone to directed.com and pulled the PDF file for the model of the alarm but it does not show any reprogramming of the alarm. Does anyone out there know how to reset the alarm or reprogram the LCD remote? Please help, also the car turns on every 24 hours and runs on default for 12 minutes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.s I have taken the car to 2 of the local car audio place by my house, they seemed to be confused so I did not trust to them enough for me to leave the car there for the whole day.

This is the remote start feature. Somehow your remote was set for a remote start every 24 hours. To turn it off enter the timer mode by pressing the button that looks like a lock (front of remote) and the button that looks like as asterik (side of remote) simultaneously. You will hear a sound and may or may not see the clock icon. It appears when you are setting the 24 hour timer feature but when you are disabling it I am not sure if it will appear. But hitting those 2 buttons at the same time should take care of the remote start problem at least.

In regard to the door lock feature, that is probably a result of what the installer did. The system can be programmed to either have the door lock feature on or off. If it was installed with the lock feature programmed to be on, the the doors will lock within 3 seconds after the ignition has been started. This is something you will probably need to have changed by the installer.

Hi, in order to turn off the "24 Hour Timer" when the vehicle starts open the driver side door while the vehicle is still running and step on the brakes... that should shut the "24hr Timer" off.
