On my company service truck a rear tire threw the tread about a mounth ago. This was on the freeway going about 65MPH. Had me all over the road but luckly didn't hit anything. When I took the truck to the dealer, the tire was replaced with no problem. Since that time I've talked with others who have had similer experiences with this brand of tire. (No Names..... YET)
Yesterday while driving through a curvy mountain road; POW ! ; another one goes. Again supurb driving skill averted a nasty wreck.
Today I took the truck to the dealer again and told them to get those crappy tires off the truck as they are unsafe in my opinion. I was told in so many words that my warrenty won't cover these tires untill they actually fail.
I'm reminded of the woman who calls the police informing them that her boyfriend's going to shoot her. Their response; "Well we can't do anything until he actually does."
Would like your opinions on wheather I should pursue getting this done as a warrenty item or just "Bite the bullet" & thank my lucky stars that I wasn't killed.
Thanks to all Mike b. (AKA Byter)

Hi Mike, YES! persue it all the way, it might have happened to others, have you considered entering the make and model of the truck into google and look under groups to see if there are similar experiences, could also do the same with the tires.I recall a year or two back a certain automobile manufacturer and a certain tire manufacturer buck passing on this issue. HERE Regarding the woman who phoned the police I read a similar story in the press here... a woman living alone noticed someone attempting to break into her garden shed, she called the police and was told they were to busy to attend! meanwhile this person was still trying to get into her shed, so she called the police again spoke to the same person and said,"about that man trying to break int my shed it doesn`t matter now..I have shot him!" and promptly hung up,a lie of course but it done the trick, three mins.later an armed response unit arrived and arrested said man

Thanks for the reply Redder, I've since E-Mailed a local attorney that specializes in California "Lemon law" cases. We'll see what they have to say. Think I may drag this whole thing over to the DR. That seems to be where all the "Idle Lip Flappers" hang out. Would like to see big response then E-Mail link to the customer relations dept. of truck manufacturer.
Also, thanks to Karrow for note in EOC.
