My brother came to visit in July and said he saw our engine was idling low. It just idles slightly lower than 1000 (We have a 2000 Hyundai Accent). I drive ALOT in my job.. that is what my job IS.. visiting nurse. Will this adversely affect my engine? What can this do to my engine or gas mileage?

That idle is normal and fine. I know of many vehicles that idle around 500, so something in the 750 to 1000 range is quite allright.

Good ol boy is exactly right, Sherasi. It sounds as if your engine idle is just where it needs to be. Even if it were too low or too high it really would not adversely effect anything.
