How can you tell if when you take your car in to get brakes fixed on it that they are being honest with you? You hear so many people saying that places always take advantage of a woman, so what can you look for or do to help on this?

First, only go to a reputable company. Next, ask them to show you your brakes after they have removed the tires and before they start on the brakes. Most brake problems are visible at this point. Don't let them tell you that their insurance company won't allow you back in the service area. That's went I would go somewhere else. They tell you that, in most cases, so they don't have to show you. They can easily escort you back there and show you.
