My brother and his wife had a Daewoo a few years back. They had nothing but trouble with it. And hassles with the dealer and company too. Power windows would go up and down by themselves, radio would shut off on it's own, door locks went up and down on there own causing them to sometimes be locked inside the car momentarily and also experianced the same problem as you did. No dealer or mechanic nor the company would help them. They ended up having it vountarilly repossesed. I found some information here on consumer complaints. It's my understanding that GM bought out Daewoo and that when they did so, the Daewoo warranty was null and void? And that parts are a bit of a problem to get a hold of? First, get in touch with a mechanic and see if they can/will help you. Some mechancis will not touch certain makes/models. I have never heard anything good about any model of Daewoo. My suggestion would be, and only if you can afford it, is to trade it in. This car will cost you more time and money then it's worth. In fact, if you have already had any other problems, such as others have mentioned in that site above, then it probably already has cost you more $$$ than it's worth.
