There is this unique style car I have seen this year that I cannot identify. It appears to be a very new model as I have only seen 4 of these cars this entire year, and my friend has seen 5 of them. The best way to describe this car is that from the end it looks like a truck. And no, it is not the new Chevrolet truck.

I believe it is a convertible and that 3 of the 4 I have seen had the roof removed which made it look even more like a truck. With the roof attached, the front looks like an old VW bug, 2 doors, and the back of the car goes straight up like the tailgate of a truck. With the roof removed, there are no side support beams so it is not a convertible PT cruiser. And with the roof removed the back of the car - which is obviously open, looks like the bed of a truck. From behind the car you would think you were looking at a short, low to the ground, truck. But as the car pulls away, you realize it is indeed a car.

The only colors I have seen this car in are champagne, pearlized white, and a pearlized silver. Again, it is not the Chevrolet truck But imagine this truck with a shorter truck bed and a shorter front and you would just about have a copy of this strange car I have been seeing.

So, all of you car buffs - what kind of car is this? It looks a lot like a Volkswagen but unfortunately like none on their website.

Dang I think I have figured it out!

It's possible it is the Chevrolet SSR afterall....but the 2006 model with a retractable roof. It may not be but this is the closest I have come to finding anything that looks like it.
