 Great workshop if it can't work out whats going wrong inside your transmission (and they are the specialists?)if it was a manual box I'd say it was a worn syncro hub, but like the others I'm in the dark about auto boxes(far too complex)and I fix Cars and Motorbikes Here are 2 sites... 1st: A site with lots of recall data (have to find your vehicle by year and model by the search control ok) you may find something relevant here?: auto recalls 2nd: A diagnosis list from a different vehicle listing a lot of the setup and fault finding for Auto transmissions (note:If you had said what manufacturers transmission it was. Possibly I could have found you a service sheet off the makers site)It's a bit long, but there could be a gem of good info in it?: Transmission Diagnosis
