Aww, you've got all the easy ones, but Number 9 looks like 16 Rowers in the University Boat Race.

Number 7 is perhaps Two birds in a brace of partridge.
And Number 4 seems to be talking about two bottles in a magnum (of) champagne but I can't quite make it work. Help!

You gourmet, Colin ! Smile We simple folk only thought of a brace of pheasant, which is what we see a lot more of, but plainly partridge will do (no doubt of French partridge in your case). Can't see what's wrong with '2 bottles in a magnum of champagne' either. We would leave 'of' out of an abbreviation, after all, and 'b' seems an acceptable abbreviation of bottle, though 'bt' may be commoner Smile

Pheasant, of course! Must be all that time I've spent listening to the Twelve Days of Christmas that got my wires crossed.

Nobody's got Number 3 yet and it's occupying my mind to an enormous degree. Any ideas, anyone? I want it to be "Seven little girls sitting in (OK on) the back seat" but that final C doesn't fit in. Tell me it's a typo and put me out of my misery. Please?

And I can't remember any such incident. Isn't amnesia awful ?

And dogs are supposed to have good memories!

I'm showing my age here, but didn't Fred turn out to be a dog in the song?

Hmm.Not so far as this old dog can establish. Perhaps you heard a cleaned-up version suited to a very young girl (or one played as a lullaby?) Wink
