I understood that. I mentioned Wilson's 500 commercials because you seem to feel that 40 was a high number. "40 in all!" I wanted to know the source of the claim that one of their ads held a world record. I don't see this sentence as saying that at all: One of these adverts, called "Mr. Shifter" holds the world record, for the advert shown most times on British Television. I can't speak for any UK record, which Wikipedia seems to say in that sentence, but I seriously doubt that it is actually a world record, as it seemed like you said.
