In what 1980s semi-auotobiographical film about WW2 was there a string quartet featuring four sisters called Grace, Hope, Charity and Faith?

"Hope and Glory" John Boorman's film based on his own experiences as a child growing up during the war years. I love this film, my mother reckons this film is the closest to capture what it was like in England during WW2.

I almost added a footnote to the question that Viv would probably get this one!

You and I have to talk sometime because I think we share the same taste in movies and probably books too! My email is in my profile btw.

Yes, the movie is John Boorman's "Hope and Glory"..isn't it terrific?
Especially, that last scene where the boy has to return to school after spending a long, hot lazy summer by the Thames. Remember the look on his face when he walks into the playground to find the school building has been bombed and he can return to his Grandpa's house by the river?

Here's the link to The New York Times that lists the cast.

The river scenes were filmed quite near to where I lived at the The Monkey Island Hotel near Bray. It really is only accessible by boat or footbridge. But what an idylic way to spend the summer, punting and throwing googlies!
