What actress played the parts of two different generations in Superman ?

It's possible I misunderstood your question.

I know that Noel Neill played Lois Lane in the early Superman episodes of the late 1940s and then took that role again around 1953 when Phyllis Coates left the series. Noel Neill also did a cameo in the 1975(?)movie version playing Lois Lane's mother.

Am I off track here?

I came up with Phyllis Coates as Lois Lane in "The Adventures of Superman" and she guess starred in an episode of "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" as Ellen Lane, Lois' mother.

Ahhh! Now I see.......I didn't even consider the TV series "Lois and Clark".

Yes, Phyllis Coates only did one season (1952-53) of the Adventures of Superman television series. Noel Neill took the role from 1953 to the series end in 1957.
