I know this may sound dumb, but how do you play the game minesweeper that comes on the computer on the menu where solitare is? I've read the help menu over and over and I still don't understand. I know it has something to do with the numbers that come up when you click on a box. Help!

He says:
Your first shot (click) is a "shot in the dark".

If you don't get "Killed" by your first click, it will probably clear a small area with numbers around the perimeter. However, it may only clear that square with a number in the box.

The number refers to the number of mines that are around it. One (1) means that there is one mine touching that square somehow. If, for example, you see the number 3, you should avoid clicking around that square, as there are 3 mines very close to it.

It is a game of luck more than anything. The further along you get, the more strategy plays a role.

I hope this helps!

I hope yours is a great day!

Sarah:

All you're supposed to do is click on squares, one at a time, and hope you don't get blown up. There are no "tricks" or options and I, personally, don't care for it. I prefer the "Battleship" game which I downloaded for free from here:

Actually, it's not a game of luck. Well, not really anyway. You first click on a random square, click until you find a big opening. Then, you go one by one looking at each number. If there is a number 1 it means that square is touching 1 mine (including corners). The same goes for number 2, 3 and so on. If you have a scroll bar thing that clicks, if you click on a square with it and that square isn't touching any mines but other empty squares it'll clear that path up, even if it normally wouldn't. It helps if you right click on the squares which you think are the mines. And sometimes you do have to guess. Always remember to include the corners when you think of how many mines the sqaure is touching!

Good Luck! smile

If you have found a number with the bombs correctly flagged around it, right-click on it to reveal other numbered squares adjacent to it. Work your way through these as much as you can.

Good Luck!

Dear Answerpool member,
The first step is you click any one of the little grey squares. Second it will show a number. The number stands for how many bombs are in that area. If you right click a grey square on your mouse, it will put up a red flag. That tells you that there is probily a mine there.
