Ok the way I'm doing it and I haven't been killed for 2 days is to get a metal (goes Bronze Steel..) shield Wooden shield is useless On the menu select the leftmost item and you access the fight style list even I'm learning.. Select the bottom Item and it causes your defence rating to increase. Swap styles and the ratings all rise (Case of trial and error) Though... It'll take you some days (and deaths) to get the benefit Good first weapon pay 10 GP to the guard at the gate to the east of your starting point. Then in the tented village you can buy a Scimitar which will kill the lizard men easily and I've killed 100's also men and women Tip do NOT try and Kill anything with a higher level than yourself your level is displayed in the overall rating My current Level is 23

Thanks for the tips, bedstor, I'm up to level 23 too, I learnt the hard way about not attacking something of a higher level. Fortunately I managed to scavenge an Iron long sword
I have only managed to do 4 of the quests so far, though I'm sure I'll get around to more
4 quests! I'm on 2 but I have about 10 others on the list started Gets rather confusing I'm trying to build up certain skills to get into the locked buildings for the time being and build up money for the expensive weapons ...Not tried any spellcasting yet. I am hoarding runes at the Bank for that purpose later on Collect any Items that all save into 1 section on the inventory such as arrows, crossbow bolts, fishing bait. Tip:Kill somebody collect the bones then Bury them (pushes the Prayer level up)

If you give me your runescape names, I will be happy to provide you with free items. From what it sounds like, you two don't have the greatest armor. I can provide both of you will full steel armor, free of charge. My runescape name is: iron gate. If you see that I am on, contact me and I will arrange for you to get the items. I can also provide you both with free food (apple pies, meat pies, stew, bread, etc.). If you need further help in runescape, let me know and I will do my best to help. At level 46, I can pretty much get you anything you need. By the way, the Easter bunny will be on runescape for another week. If you talk to her, she will give you a chicken, which you can hit people with. The Easter bunny is located to the left of the south entrance of Falador.
