I hope someone can help me install this game. I have tried using the compatibility wizard and it still won't work. The game is Dragon's Lair CD-ROM. The requirements are 386 or faster processor, VGA display, and 4 mb RAM. I just got a new Dell computer with a Pentium IV Processor. Here are the installation instructions from the game:

Dragon's Lair requires a minimum of 4 MB RAM in EMS. If you do not have enought EMS memory available, a message will be displayed and Dragon's Lair will not be loaded. The more memory you give to EMS the better. To do this you should have the following line in your Config. SYS: DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE 4000. If you choose not to change your system files, make a boot disk by typing INSTALL at your CD-ROM drive prompt.

PROCEDURES FOR WINDOWS 95

Your system must be set up for Expanded Memory. If you receive an error message indicating there is no EMS present you need to edit the CONFIG.SYS file. Then it explains how to edit the file. Any help will be appreciated.

I have a ton of games that no longer play on my new computer. I assume you are using Win XP. If you figure out a way, let me know.

Well; you can try running the game in XP computability mode, but it only works for games that do not need direct access to system memory or uses VESA or the emm386 memory access mode.

What I have done is to load DOS 6.22 on a separate HDD but with all the new mainboards, display cards and sound cards I have endless headaches getting the games to work properly.

I should never have done away with my old 486...

It may be possible to get it to run using DOSBox. DOSBox is a DOS emulator which runs atop your current operating system, be it WinXP, MacOS, or Linux. Looking at the compatibility list, it seems that Dragon's Lair 1-3 should work.

Hope this was helpful!
