Sounds as if this is Graphics related Whats happening is when the graphics card is called on there is Nothing there (driver failure?) ...or a stick of RAM (Memory) has failed? A Good free Program for Trouble shooting Both of these Issues is SIW (System Information for Windows) which runs Displays (and Does not install) www.gtopala.com Just click on what you wish to check on the Big list and in the Window It will tell you if there is a Fault

Ok it is a bit daunting Scroll down to Hardware then click on Memory and if you have a peek inside the tower you will see the RAM Boards in the Long black slots and there are 3 to 4 of these on most motherboards If there are 2 then SIW will report 2 but if there is a fault SIW may report 1 Present ,and the Other Need replacing with a matching spec Board. You cannot Mix these up ( Rarely ever works) Leads to allsorts of Issues! Graphic adapter... Move down the list until you see Devices click it and look for Display Adapters If your graphic card has failed there may be nothing listed here ,and your computer is struggling along on Integrated graphics which is Heavily reliant on The Memory Boards and as soon as a Game is started ...Blank screen! Your RAM will be reporting back as "working" if this is the issue? Another Item that is worth investigating is your Hard drives (Virtual drive Memory) If this is set wrongly The symptoms cause Hiccups In running Programs Only way this can Happen is if the Hard drive settings have been altered, or Its a new Hard drive? (easy fix though)
