My son was on one of his gaming sites and he was asked what speed of ping he wanted. I have a rough idea of what a ping is but what does the question mean? What is better,fast or slow ping? Maybe it was high or low.

Ping is when your computer sends out info to another computer and that computer sends info back to you.
It would be like if I was playing an online tennis game with you. I would send the ball to you (ping) and wait for you to return it to me (ping). The lower the ping rate- The faster the connection. He probably wanted to see if your son had a low enough ping rate.
