This question is in regards to the original Sims game with all expansion packs up to SuperStar.
After I installed this game it ran just fine under my user account with Computer Administrator privs, but when ran under an account with limited privs, a player cant create a family or save their game.
Obviously, I have figured out what is causing the issue but I dont know what to change on my computer, to allow users with limited access to fully enjoy this game.
Computer Specs: 1.8 ghz AMD64 200 gb HD 256 mb ATI AGP All-In-Wonder Windows XP Media Center Edition
Please help soon. I hate allowing other people to play the game under my user account. (for obvious reasons)
Welcome to Answerpool Thomas G I'm not an expert on the XP accounts setup but you could set up a new account (full priveleges) and Password protect your own account? I have 3 accounts on my computer (all Masters) For myself and my brothers 1 of which has password protected (to protect his game files) which I can see (but not access) from my account I can still delete them...But chances are the other players won't know how to get into the Windows or Program files Folder to Mess around But there is a Hide files setting also a lock folders setting also to stop prying eyes, between shared files Both of which can be found on the Windows Help(via the Start button) I doubt they are going to be nosing that deep? And most of the programs are always keyed to work off the 1st Master Name on the List by default There'll be somebody on later to add to this.

The problem with having an account with full privs is that anyone that uses that account can install stuff and change system settings. I am a die hard computer protection type. (if u know what I mean... i couldnt think of any other way to say it)
I want it to be that only I can install programs and change settings. I honestly dont trust the others well enough to do that.
Any other suggestions would be good. Thanks for the help though.
Before you even start playing or get the game going, why not make yourself a password version entery into windows. (Under the START menu). Logout and simply make a password-entry for windows.
You could past the way to do this under "Computers" for the exacts on how to do this.
