I installed a game and I keep getting error "winspool.dll not found". I was told to make a copy of winspool.drv and rename it winspool.dll. That didn't work. Any one have any sugestions. My os is xp home. Thanks in advance. Jo
Did you do this first.? In Explorer window, Tools->Folder Options -> View, and turn off "Hide extentions for known file types" before copying the file....might work
Try this: Go to "My Computer", open Tools/Folder Options/View, and turn off "Hide extentions for known file types" before copying the file. Without this, created file will become WINSPOOL.dll.DRV instead of Winspool.dll
I hope this helps!

Thanks for your input. Yes I did turn off the hide. Was I suppose to copy the renamed file to the winspool.drv folder? I copied it in the windows systems folder, where the winspool.drv is located. I have it there as "copy of winspool.dll". Maybe that is the problem??? Hey thanks for answering so fast. I do need more help though. Jo
Hi, Thanks again. That site you recomended was where I found out to do the copy and rename thing. I went back and took the "copy of" out of the file name. I tried the game again and it at least came up with insert cd blah blah... so I put it in my dvd player and it worked. What do you think is up with that??? It will not work in my cd player, other games will! I appreciate everyones time and knowledge. If it wern't for forums such as this one I would have no hair. HAAAA. Jo
