Hi,
I wanted to go do some crosswords in Yahoo.com and this is what it said and I don't know what to do:

The interactive crossword is not available on the web browser that you are using. Please enable Java or upgrade to the latest version of Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer. Version:6.0.2800.1106xpsp 030422-1633

What can I do?

If you look in the title bar of IE under Help
and the item at the bottom of the menu you'll find the version number you are using Smile
The latest version can be downloaded from here:
www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx#XSLTfullModule123121120120
Or use this link instead which will scan your computer for any updates off the Microsoft site
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
If it recommends a service pack update for your computer setup accept it SmileIts a lot smaller than the full IE download Smile and it has lots of fixes in it Cool
Due to the large size of the program, download this program first It will keep it saved even if you want to do something else or the electic fails Frown (about 7mins on dialup)

Leave the Java program till later

I remembered this Razz
Have a go at this lot www.crossword-puzzles.co.uk/
These are Java as well (I posted this about a month ago)
There are dozens listed(from many sources) and they are all current Smile
If this works then it is a Yahoo cookie that is causing the error Frown Tell us if that happens and we can deal with it Smile

Sorry, you need a Java-enabled browser for the Daily Crossword. This is what it said on the site you sent me.

I trust that you are using Internet Explorer 6. If it is, got to "Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/scroll down about 1/2 way down to Java or Microsoft VM" & make sure that you have the Java stuff enabled. If you are using FireFox, then, you will have to go to HERE FOR JAVA. Download & install.

Try the link if it works then the error is elsewhere Smile
This is the java software download link http://java.com/en/download/windows_automatic.jsp
Runs automatically I think you have to do a "reset" when it finishes ? Other than that everything will work smoothly after this is installed Cool(another longish download Frown sry!)
Then try the 2nd Crossword link enjoy! Smile
