My son has vice city and is using a sidewinder 3d pro joystick. Tommy does not stand still. If he takes his hand off of the joystick Tommy keeps walking. Any cures out there?
Also the selector on the main menu justs keeps going up and down and you have to be quick with the mouse to hit what you want. His friends do not have this problem with their game.. Suggestions.

Sounds like your joystick needs calibration. Calibration fine tunes how the computer interprets the information coming from the joystick.

- Open "Game Controllers" from within the Control panel.
- Select your joystick and click properties.
- Somewhere (varies by joystick) there should be an option to calibrate.
- The calibration process is pretty simple, move the stick around a little bit, and press a number of the puttons and it is done.
- After you calibrate the joystick, you should be able to play the game without further problems

A few games also have the ability to calibrate. (Particularly the older games) If using the control panel doesn't work, dig through the options in GTA. (You might want to unplug it until you get to the right screen)

I hope this was helpful Big Grin
