I recently tried playing a game and the following message appeared, "check your browser settings and make sure that Javascript is turned on". Does anyone know how I can do this??
In Internet Explorer, click Tools, Internet Options, Security, Internet, and Custom Level. Scroll nearly to the bottom, and enable "Active scripting". You probably will need to enable "Java applets" also.
Because there are a number of things ranging from damaged DLLs to conficting browser helper objects (BHOs) which can cause these problems, diagnosis may not be practical.
A clean install of Windows should resolve the problems. This does not require formatting the drive and, with a few precautions, all your data will remain intact. Programs and Windows updates will need to be reinstalled.
The Windows folders you may need to back up include Application Data\Identities (your Outlook Express email), Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book, Desktop, Favorites, and Offline Web Pages.
You may either delete the existing Windows folder, or install Windows in a new folder. To remove the Windows folder and all its contents, boot from a Startup Disk and use the DELTREE C:\Windows command (this may take 20 to 30 minutes to complete).
