I agree its frustrating
You are getting the same as if you were being spammed online

Solution Not as easy a clearing Spam up takes lonker

First You want to register your address/Landline number with the Local equivalent of the UK Mailing preference service. Check this link out on how it works
www.mpsonline.org.uk/ (Check with your local Better Business Bureaux office)
Warning Note: There are Many of these but some are disguised spammers !!
Use
only the BBB's recommendation OK?
Step 2 Get into the habit of inspecting those tick boxes asking about further offers ect
and resist the temptation unless it says tick for no offers
Provided you Trash all the unwanted catalogs and things will takes a few months to quieten down! Cannot give you a definate answer
If you are also being Hassled by Phone line pests ...My method is
Be Polite Tell them It the 2nd time they have called today (LIE

) and can they delete your Name/file off their computer?
Has an additional benefit in that any leaflets coming from that source also dry up

However they try it again ask for the Supervisor and Tell them the Same thing ( And remain polite) and Keep on going up the chain
Loosing your cool may get you Nowhere! OK?
