Big Grin Does anyone have ideas for me other than just keeping my place clean and disappearing when a realtor brings a client over? I know there are some really creative types here so I thought I would ask.

My husband Sagus sold my mom's home in 5 days about 8 years ago. We saw a discussion on television on one of the more reputable talk shows about 7-8 years ago, so we bought the book. It seemed reasonable so we did it.

What we did was make the home totally ready for sale, spotless, etc. Then we put an ad in the local papers for an open house. Basically we put the house up for bid, and it worked very well.

Here is a site that briefly discusses the book. Remember, you have to buy the book. We did, and everything is laid out very carefully. You can even sell other objects, anything from cars to lawmovers in the same method.

There are no Gimmicks or sales pitches, it is a very simple technique of having everything upfront and totally prepared a head of time. I hope this helps.

Just one stupid idea. In the bathtub put water and those floating candles. Find something like that to make your house stand out. I heard strange little things like this work.

Saffy,

I've heard that you should get
rid of your personal photos, as
a person may feel that he's
invading your space.... and
make it smell homey!!!

Take a look at this:

Make your Home Appealing

Good luck!

I may be an odd ball with this one. I love old houses. I like seeing personal photos in a home. It's like it gives me a feel for it's history. To be on the safe side, getting rid of the pictures is probably the best idea.

Thanks, everyone for your suggestions. My condo sold in about 5 days and I have now bought a new one. I think the best advice I can give to anyone else selling is to make it absolutly spotless and uncluttered. From the comments I got, that seemed to be the key.

Make sure the yard is tidy as well as the inside of the house. The yard will be the first thing that will be seen so you wnat to make a good 1st impression.
