Well ,you have to know first , if you have been elected member of the board , what law or chapter you are representing and fighting ,and defending!
Then as a secretary, you are responsible to take the minutes of any meetings. And make sure these are (usually ) took on a tape recorder(audio), while you write down in writing all the bla bla bla. This way you won't loose any details .Then you are responsible to keep them , and those minutes have to be read outloud by you at the next meeting so , everyone be remembered what happened at the last meeting .That's the basic of a secretary's duty ,of an executive board!
Voting is usually made by the members, depending of the kind of association or company (I have no details), and charter. The secretary on the board usually has the most work to do compare to the rest of the officers!
