Any words of wisdom from professionals regarding which areas of my home to pay most attention to when preparing it for sale? Other than painting (in & out) and of course cleaning the carpet - anything I should put time and money in to to get the best return on my investment? Thanks. Smile

Your realtor of choice should do a walk-thru and take a good look at the house. From this walk-thru, a list will be compiled listing the repairs necessary to sell your house.

Something to consider is; do you paint, or allow a painting allowance once the house is sold and vacant. Painting the ceiling of a room is a no-no because the prospective buyer may wonder what the new coat of paint may be hiding.

Hey blueeagle!

I've heard from realtors to be sure to get rid of personal photos (like grandpa and grandma) since people want to buy your home and not destroy your memories. Throw that apple in the oven covered in sugar and cinnimon to get that great smell thoughout the house!

Take a look at THIS site.
