Sagus and I are really ready to buy a home. We have decided (almost) to go with a lender that is listed on the Fannie Mae website.

Fannie mae

Does anyone know how reputable Fannie Mae is? Have you any good or bad stories to relate?

Fannie Mae has an excellent reputation. Their not for profit foundation is a great resource for first time home buyers. I read through their literature before I bought my home and it was helpful. From what I can tell the organization is very well respected.

Great!

I did just get approval from an online-based site called First Mortgage, but I am rather reluctant to get into a 10.1% interest rate.

Still waiting on information from the Lender listed on the Fannie Mae site.

This is an exciting but scary situation we are engaging in. Smile
