In China no one else than the Emperor and his family could use, wear, this special featured symbol, design, about a certain animal. What is it?

To clarify furthermore I'd like to add that I am looking for a "part of the body" of a certain animal.

Now you are being puzzling ! From around 206 BC the Emperor wore robes bearing the twelve imperial symbols. The only creatures in the twelve were the dragon and the pheasant. Is it part of one of these that we seek?

The crane, by the way, was the symbol worn by the first six top ranks of the army. The ranks immediately below wore the egret.Interesting that the Chinese did not use a more aggressive or dangerous bird as a symbol of military rank. What, no eagles? Smile

Yes dance girl, the "five-clawed dragon".
I must admit that after Sherasi's answer ,i felt that I may have had a glitch in my question.

Now I don't know if the animals mentioned by Sherasi and Fred were forbidden to be worn and used by others, besides the Emperor and his family,(I couldn't find any references on this point and they didn't provide any) but the "five-clawed Dragon" was.

Right on cue:Today, British newspapers report that a woman thought that she had something at home, at the bottom of a wardrobe, which was similar to a vase in the Three Emperors exhibition at the Royal Academy. What she had was even better than that displayed because its colour is rarer. Her vase has just sold for £2,820,000 [about $ 5.7 million ] at Sotheby's. It is of the Qing Dynasty , dates from the mid C18, is a blue and white vase and its decoration is a central five -clawed dragon .That's what marked it out as special and makes it so rare. It had to be have been made for the personal use of the Emperor or his family at court.
