Among regularly traded currencies it's probably the yen nowadays. The likely winner before would have been the Turkish lira but the Turkish government has just removed a lot of zeros and reissued it.
Hmm. Is this still so? Yugoslavia ceased to exist in its 1993 form in 2003. We now have Montenegro, which uses the euro as its official currency, and Serbia which uses the new Yugoslav dinar which stood at 58 YUM to 1 US Dollar in 2005.
The yen stands at 112Y to 1 US dollar at today's rate.
You are right Fred about former Yugoslavia. But some of those bills, are still around, even if the country doesn't exist anymore. My question did not mention regularly traded currencies.
