I think Chairman Mao is still #1, at least in total book printed. His total books sold is extremely high, too. I will try to get figures for that.

Here is the list for 2002. JK Rowling can't top that! Big Grin
The source that Mozart gave was the 'Amazon' best selling list.

How can you include the "Bible" ? It is authorless.....

Question was: J.K. Rowling is ranked #1, where does Shakespeare rank? If Mao or bible or something else is #1, Shakespeare is somewhere else in the rankings, No ? Wink

Frank is right, as usual. I didn't check the source, since I assumed that Mozart meant all time best selling authors without any other conditions. Obviously, I was wrong.

Fritzzs, the Bible does have authors. In fact, several are listed in the newer part.

The fault is mine for not understanding. The question is fine. You asked where Shakespeare ranked on a list in which Rowling is first. I answered another question, not yours.

Sorry , but that is purely hypothetical with no fact... It is only a belief...

Later Edit - Fritzzs, of course, is wrong. Someone wrote the Bible. In fact, at least 2 people had to be involved, since the Old Testament was in existence before Christ was born. But perhaps Fritzzs means that it was divinely written. In any case, someone wrote it; it could not be "authorless" as Fritzzs says. - DG
