All very strange. The juvenile feline is just that in Britain. Not so in France, where the female cat takes its American place, as it were.

Lear [Can we say that on TV?] is an anagram of Earl and both the 13th Earl and the man who some thought 'ill-tempered and queer' [Here we go again. Can we say that... ?] were named Edward. The Earl was one of Lear's patrons.

All lost on me : I only know of Edward Lear as a water-colourist whose works now sell for unaffordable sums of money. I see, from wikipedia, that he wrote books as well.Amazing !

PS I've just heard a nonsensical rumour that Jack Yeats' brother wrote some bad poetry about falconers and won a prize ! Big Grin I suppose it may be true . If so , life for us aesthetes has unwelcome surprises Frown
