Any Wilco or Billy Bragg fans here? I'm listening to the live version of "Misunderstood" by Wilco, and it's really good. I don't understand why I don't hear it on the radio.

Other good Wilco song is "She's a Jar". And I think he sings "California Stars" with Billy Bragg, another great artist. Billy Bragg also sings "At My Window Sad And Lonely". Good song, but about 8 years old.

Are they both from Australia?

Bily Bragg ? Think London. He was born in Barking which the distant Ritzmar says is in "Essex (London Area)" which makes it sound almost rural. Well it was once. It's an eastern London Borough nowadays. Billy Bragg is famous for his politics which are firmly of the old left. His songs are strongly political in style though he himself prefers to say that they are simply describing society as it is and not 'political songs'.

Yep, Wilco is from the US. Most, if not all of the band, are from Illinois.

I really shouild hear some Wilco. I've heard tons of good things about them. Billy Bragg, too. How many Wilco albums do you have?

Funny because Billy Bragg sounds like he's from Australia when he sings. So, I just assumed he was Australian. I was just introduced to them through Yahoo Launchcast. I don't have any of their albums but I've collected a few MP3's (legally).

Why do I think some new player will drop in with that tour info? Am I just getting old and jaded?

You were getting old before Enrico Caruso stopped doing live performances.

I have just one Wilco album, the double CD "Being There". It's a fine effort, well written, thoughtfully produced, finely crafted. I've just played it (yet) again. It stands up so very well, thanks mainly, true, to Mr Tweedy. Give it a listen if you don't know it, please.

Is this Wilco the same one who used to be a member of Dr. Feelgood?

Wilco
I heard a few of the members when they were Uncle Tupelo in the late 80s or early 90s. That band was from nearby Belleville, Illinois, about 20 miles SE of me. Many people there have rural (read "country") accents.
