Three alternative rock bands that are still very different.
Blindside- I'd make a good guess that you saw them at a P.O.D. show. I've only heard one of their songs(Pitiful, which is an ok song). I've heard they are a rap-metal(not obvious from the one song I heard though) Christian band from Sweeden.
Filter- My favorite of the three. I haven't heard much from The Amalgamut but they've made 2 other albums in the last 7 years that have some good songs on it. They've done some industrial stuff too but I haven't heard any. Some may know them for Hey Man, Nice Shot(a sarcastic song about a politician who commited suicide) or Take A Picture. Two of my favorite Filter songs are Welcome To The Fold and The Best Things off the Title of Record album. The singer, Richard Patrick, was also the guitarist in the early days of Nine Inch Nails.
New Found Glory- An ok punk-pop band.

No, I have never been to a P.O.D concert. I have actually never heard these guys before. I was looking around the BMG music site and thought I would try something new. I listen to alot of the 80's artists, but I also like bands like Vertical Horizon or Linking Park. Maybe I should have asked before I bought them, huh.
Oh well. Thank You for your opinons, jusork.

Filter's okay. Much better music than their stage presence. Take themselves WAY too seriously. Serious rockers. Decent musicians.
New Found Glory - this week's punk pretty boys. Not enough talent (IMO) to last the "long term punk career", like Green Day or Blink 182. Few catchy songs right now. Pretty good overall.

I haven't heard of the first one, adn Filter does take themselvs to seriously and cannot have fun on stage (my friends have been to a concert).
As for New Found Glory, apparently there is this pop-punk trend going on. There are alot of new punk bands (although they are reffered to as "posers" by some) out right now, and most will only have one or two hits and then die out as the interest of the masses fades away. Like nicci said, they're not talnted enough and just along for the joy ride. "My Friends Over You" was a really good song though.

I love the filter CD. Blindside is pretty good too. But I hate....absolutly hate the Newfound Glory CD. I can't find anyone else to give it to that likes them either!

New Found Glory is a pop punk band but they still continue to make albums out of the spotlight. They are a little mediocre, unlike Blink 182, who is still going strong. If New Found Glory's sound matured a little bit more they could probably make a better name for theirselves. *but Head on Collision is pretty good, lyrically speaking
This just in. New Found Glory with their latest album (although it's been out many months) has evolved more from an ok pop-punk band to a very refreshingly promising one, now focusing on their creative side more than their formulaic one instead of downplaying their originality and playing up their average side like they seemed to be with their ealier albums. Hooray!
Filter's taking their expected long wait. I'm pretty sure Patrick is out of rehab by now.
And Blindside released something recently but I can't remember what it was like...
