How can Hoobastank take such a good song as Reason and butcher it with that whiny scratchy screatching voice of whoever that singer is , and stiil have a number 1 hit? Give me a reason to like Reason, please. Bear in mind that I'm not the greatest fan of Alternative, bit listening to that whining makes me oh so longing for the Beatles to return.

Eh, I like it because it's actually a pretty good song. Way better quality than any of their other stuff anyway. It feels good, has an enjoyable hook. I guess that's all really. Is his voice really that scratchy though? Chester Bennington from Linkin Park. Are you sure you're not talking about him?
I don't think it was as big of a hit as The Reason, but they also had a hit with Crawling in the Dark in 2001-2002. What about his voice in that one? Have you heard it (I can get a clip)? Actually, come to think of it, The Reason is probably one of their least scratchy, screaching, whiney songs.

Well maybe I got a bit carried away calling it scratchy, but it is quite annoying to me, kinda like he's singing through his nose like Hooty and the Blowfish do, or like a cranky 2 year old whaling through the night.. What's his name anyway? Yes, send me that clip when you can, thanks...

Hey, thanks, champ. I can't say i liked that song "Crawling" all that much, but I didn't dislike it either, it had more of a 'Metalica" sound. Could you pick out one of your favorite "linkin park" tunes and send me a clip?I know they are or were very popular amongst the alternative crowd. and I'd like to hear what they've got. You probably don't have a clip of "Reason", or do you? Thanks for your time.

A favorite Linkin Park song? Let's see. I'd say this is one of their better moments. That's Easier to Run off Meteora. I can give you some more if you'd like. Yeah, they're still pretty popular with their 2003 album. As a look into some of their other even better avenues, I'll also give you some awesome DJ Hahn stuff: Session is one of his turntablism songs. It's on Meteora. Here's another one which is on Hybrid Theory: Cure for the Itch. And also their remix stuff is really well done I think. Compare the original of By Myself to the remix By Myslf. That slowed down echo right before he yells at about 2:40 is one of my favorite parts. Oh! I finally found a clip of Krwlng. I think it's beautifully done. And the original Crawling.
I can certainly find a clip of The Reason. Popular songs are very easy. Here you go. -

My personal fave Linkin Park tracks are: Lying from You Track #11 from Meteora (can't remember the title, but it's got a Japanese sound to it) Track #4 from Hybrid Theory
Just got to see them with Korn, Snoop Dogg, etc. on the Projekt Revolution tour in Virginia Beach the other night. Excellent show.
Next show I'm looking forward to seeing is the Lunatic Luau...I really want to see Slipknot (new song "Duality" rocks hard).
#11 is Nobody's Listening. I agree. It's another one of their more creative moments. It's probably one of their most hip-hop oriented songs. Yeah, does sound kind of Japanesish actually.
Projekt Revolution has to be the only place you'd ever see Snoop Dogg and The Used together. Might've been better if they got a more alternative rapper though. Like one form Reanimation.

Jusork, you are quite kind to send along all those video clips, thank you. I listened to "REASON" again....and I like it, it's pretty good after all my complaining! I listened to the entire song for the first time, and it's so much better to hear the whole thing rather than bits and pieces of it as I pass by a radio.
