The alternative station (Jimmy Eat World, Nine Inch Nails, Incubus, etc.) I listen to has a couple of new songs I just love. The DJ (all 6 times I've caught the songs) just starts talking about other stuff and never mentions the artist or song. Please help.
One is a new cover of the old Johnny Cash tune "Ring of Fire" - it's excellent.
The other, I have no clue about. It has a kind of Black Sabbath flavor to it, but not quite as hard driving. I can't really describe it; just reminds me of what I listened to back in the late '60s early '70s. - I know this one's a long shot.
Thanks for any info.

With regards to the "Ring of Fire" cover, when you say new do you mean very new? There was a version of this done by "Wall Of Voodoo" that might fit the bill but it's a few years old. This webpage lists 37 versions of the song including the one i've mentioned and you can listen to snippets of them all. http://lasiewski.com/rof/
jusork answered the first part of my question (Billy Burnette covered "Ring of Fire" recently) before the Pool got drained. I appreciate the link, 'though - just like toys, one can never have too many links. LOL
I'm going to keep looking/listening for the second one - it's driving me nuts.

I thought of someone else it could be. I've heard someone say Audioslaves’ 'Cohise' reminded them of Black Sabbath. Chris Cornell actually sounds like a higher pitched Ozzy. My local alternative/new rock DJ says they remind him of Led Zeppelin though.

Your original answer, to my original post (which disappeared when the site crashed), was right on the money. Queen's of the Stone Age (more Led Zeppelinish than Black Sabbath...'though, sorta both) - "No One Knows" was it! Finally, finally got the answer from the DJ. Thanks so much...guess who went CD shoppin'?
