has anyone ever heard of this group? I have not. I am a member of Columbia house and BMG. I forgot to cancel the selection of the month for BMG and they sent me Dashboard Confessionals. I listened to soundclips off of MSN Entertainment but have not opened the CD yet, incase I want to return it.

Just curious if anyone else has listened to this group before and has an opinion. Thanks Smile

Whee I have a chance to rave about one of my favorite bands!

I don't know if you enjoy emo (emotional) music, and I usually don't either, because it can get annoying listeing to guys whining about how some girl broke his heart, but I think the honesty and emotion that goes into DC's songs is unparalleled. Chris (the lead guy) truly has a talent for writing heartfelt lyrics that will connect with almost anyone, weather you're into death metal or Britney Spears. Its usually him on an acoustic guitar, with some drums and bass in the background. The songs are pretty damn catchy too, they had me singing along after a few listens. I love this band, I really recommend you keep it, most of the friends who I let borrow my CD loved it as well and got thier own, but then again, I'm not making any garuntees either. Wink

thanx so much, Yelena Smile I will open it up and give it a try I guess.

I did notice that they are compared to A new Found Glory. I have one of their CD's and I absolutly despise it! I bought it on a whim and listened to it a couple of times and it didn't take long for me to decide I hated it.

In your honest opinon, since I know you have listend to NFG before, would you compare them at all to Dashboard Confessionals??

Thanks for your much appreciated input, Heather Smile

In my opinion, anyone who compares DC and NFG doesn't know jack about either bands and is basically talking out of thier behind. Smile DC is a guy on an acoustic singing heartfelt lyrics about love and life, and NFG is a bunch of immature guys being themselvs doing pop punk at its best. I have also heard this comparison many times, and I have no idea how anyone thats even listened to them could possibly come to that conclusion. To put it bluntly, some people are just dum (ha thats my new favorite word). Razz

Listen to Saints and Sailor and Again I Go Unnoticed first, they're my favorite. Tell me what you thought first chance you get okay Im curious. Smile

P.S. If you dont want your NFG CD, can I have it? Razz

Thank you, Yelena. Smile I will let you know my impression after I listen to it. If they are as good as you say they are, then I have no doubt in my mind whatsover that I will like them. Smile

If you want my NFG CD, you can have it. It's all yours. Nobody else seems to want it... Roll Eyes

There's a nice piece on D.C.'s in this weeks Rolling Stone (with American Idol's Ruben on the cover - gimmee a break, RS is selling out big time), and the article is pretty interesting. They call Chris the "tattooed love boy". Whatever, but their sound is pretty decent.

Off topic here, but Rolling Stone to me has lost ALL credebility as a serious music magazine a long time ago. Down with RS!!!
