The band HIM uses a symbol they call a heartagram as their logo, which is like an inverted pentagram with a heart at the top instead of the two points. I was watching last week's episode of "Charmed" and that symbol was featured in a journal supposedly written fifteen years ago -before HIM, I assume. I always assumed this symbol was invented by HIM, but maybe it's something older? Does anyone have anymore information? Thanks!!

To the best of my knowledge, HIM (formerly His Infernal Majesty) invented this sign. I cannot find anything predating the band's modified pentagram. This seems to be fairly definitive... it is alphabetical order, so just scroll down...

A similar question came up on a HIM messge board. And apparently it's the same image from his lower stomach. I seriously doubt that the show would use the symbol without permission and I can't imagine it being an accident, so I think it's safe to assume that its done on purpose. Someone else in the link proposes that HIM have some kind of special appearance in the future. Perhaps then the symbol is just a reference to the band? That's a possibility.

Thank you for the answers. I guess I'll have to see where the show takes it. They'll probably try to pass it off as some ancient pagan symbol... Because using it as a reference to HIM would be ludicrous as I can't see how HIM was a factor in a six-year-old's life from almost twenty years ago... I can't see that either path will make much sense, though... If they don't pull this off well, that may be it for the show in my book. I mean, it's such a "quality" show anyway...
