When you jump from one web site to another from your favorites, does this close the previous one right then?

If you are viewing at full screen then any new site opened will close the previous site
BUT...if you open it as a window and you pull it to one side and you select a new site then the page you were viewing is frozen but is "Live" as soon as it is brought to the front
On browsers like Aol you can arrange the open windows to "cascade" (fan out) or "Tile"(open in consequtive/adjacent places) Not too sure if you can do it on IE? Roll Eyes
If you open 1 site after the other and the Windows open in the same spot and they are the same size the old site may have to be recalled again from Favorites or by the "Back arrow" on the Browser toolbar (and resumes where it left off Smile) This is actually the best method to keep your work intact Smile other way is to open up the Toolbar (And select the page from the list if it exists ?)
Tell this to an absolute beginner and they will think it is confusing Confused
But with a bit of practice this can be done in a few seconds Smile

I believe you can do this in IE and I certainly can in MSN 8. I am glad to know how to close these pages - asked before but no one could agree on how to do it. So thank you, bedstor!

I just ran an experiment on the AOL browser to see how many Windows could be stacked at a time and the answer came to 20 Windows (Generates a warning message about this "limit")
Number could vary on other browsers? Roll Eyes But think about it? 20 pages to work on is a generous amount Smile
Red Face ! I forgot to add that there is another method of indexing "Open" windows (and keep tabs on where they are? Smile)
All you do is Minimise the window and it drops to the bottom of the screen and they "line up" next to each other
Is this the best method? To peek inside double click(on the colored part of the frame to reopen Smile) Doing it twice makes the Window "full screen" sized Frown So be aware of "overclicking" Red Face

Sammy
Ya got it in 1 Smile
Didn't get the chance of running the sane experiment on IE.
But all you do is keep opening pages and then Minimising them (left button in top of "Window frame" above)
There must be a physical limit somewhere? when it makes a message saying just that? Roll Eyes
When I first got Windows98 I did a similar thing, seeing how many folders and icons the Desktop would hold Roll Eyes
The number was 256 If memory serves me correctly Windows generated NO message it just wouldn't scroll to accept more folders
So(back to today)I'd estimate (At Most) Roll Eyes)you'll get 256 "stacked" closed windows maximum or a factor of that figure(either 8,16,32,64,or 128 Windows?)
Just a guesstimate Wink
●There is NO info on this subject in Help on Windows or IE Red Face (They do not think anybody is going to do something like this (They've Not met me! LOL!! Razz)(so No write-up Frown) Confused

I think you are right? But.. if you have the RAM memory card over 512MBs I think you can avoid this issue (Run into "Out of Memory" error Messages(Not seen those in ages Smile)
On this computer I have 1GB in RAM (2x 512MB sticks) You can buy a 512MB memory card for about $20 Smile There are several different types so if you do want to upgrade you have to know some things like "Front Bus speeds" before ordering. No way round this Sorry Frown
Either way It works ,does nothing or get conflict messages !Confused
