Recently, I've been having a hard time accessing my email at yahoo from my home computer. Opening any page from that website takes at least 10 minutes. Last night I thought it was the website, but at work, I have no problem accessing it, so it must be my computer. I went into internet options/advanced and clicked on "restore defaults," but that didn't make any difference. Yahoo seems to be the only website I'm having trouble with. My work email, Answerpool, and the NY Times opened without any trouble. Any suggestions?

Go back into Internet Explorer and delete the Temp files (do it logged off) could be near capacity?
The button is in the first page marked "delete files" then click on the "settings" key in the same section
In the next window Check the button setting is on Automatically this will keep things up to date
Then cast your eyes down to the slidebar
Pull this to the right no more than 2 lines from the left in the small window the number will be about 1100MBs-1200MBs (can type a number into the window or fine tune with the tiny buttons
any number outside that range in my experience causes Page loading issues
So Your target is about 1100MBs to 1200MBs in that box and the bar is at least 1 but not more than 2 lines from the left resist the temptation to Pull it To the Center Frown unless the numbers above coincide with this setting? Roll Eyes Looks generous but It leads to further "slow load "pages later on if left in this state Frown
Press the OK button to set the settings and exit
1st page load will be slow . But subsequent loads will be at normal speed
Tell us if that has made any difference? Smile

Thanks, Bedstor, but it still isn't working.Frown I think there's something fishy going on. When I got back online, I noticed that the first page explorer opened to was

http://www.terra.com.mx/servicioaclientes/saldo/
The homepage address specified in Internet Options is www.yahoo.com. I just double checked it and it still is yahoo.com. Also, if I click on the "home page" icon, explorer tries to take me to www.yahoo.com. I think terra.com must be doing something to my connection. I'm not quite sure, but I have this vague recollection that my husband tried terra.com once as an internet connection or something like that, and it turned out to be worthless. Any ideas?

By the way, in case you need to understand the content of the Terra page, it's basically telling me that my payment for their services is due December 2. I have never used their services and am sure we never paid for anything (we had one of those trial deals - and this was 2 or 3 years ago). It also says at the end that if we don't have an account with them, we don't need to pay attention to this announcement. But of course it's hard to ignore their evil spammy ways! Roll Eyes

Well, go figure. Today Yahoo is working, Terra.com has disappeared, and all is well with the world. Very strange.

I'm puzzled too Confused
As you said It was an ISP not a website there will be a connection link on your computer
This is not deleted by removal of Cookies or Temp files Only by uninstalling the program.
But Lets check it does not exist or make sure it does not interfere with the AOL dial up
Will only take you about a minute to check and alter
Open Internet Explorer from the Desktop NOT the AOL version (has differences)
On the tabs look for Connections (3rd from right)
2 jobs to do here
1:
In the Dial-up box check that there are NO other names Other than AOL in the Box
If so Highlight them and press the Remove button to delete them. That solves any more Phantom dialups ISPs Wink
2:
Now cast your eyes to the buttons below this box
and select the setting marked "Never Dial a connection"
Then press the APPLY and the OK buttons (in that order)to Save and exit
That will permanently
Put your AOL Dialup connection back in control Cool
