The page layout is set incorrectly. If you click on "File/Print Preview" it should show the way the printed page will look.

In "File/Page Setup", try these settings:

Hi Dwight
I am allready using 8.5x11 setting and I've
now tried smaller ones as well, but I still lose the last half dozen letters from the end of each line.

Using Dwight's suggestion of changing the File/Page setup why don't you just select the option of Landscape Orientation. I've had to do that on many occasions to get a page to print in it's entirety.

Since you're in the UK, Challie, you're probably using A4 paper, 210 x 297 mm or about 8.27" x 11.69". I'd be surprised if your software doesn't offer A4 as an option.

In Page Setup, try setting all margins to zero. The computer will then reset them to the minimum your printer will allow. That cured things for me when I had the same problem.

Also, in my experience, "Print Preview" does give an accurate view of what will print - even truncated lines.

Hey Ewood I agree 'print preview' does't give an accurate representation. but changing the margin settings in 'page setup' did the trick,
Thanks a bunch,

Don's Reply: Did you mean to say DOES instead of DOES'NT here?

Don's Reply: I have the same problem about missing letters/words on the right side of the page & 'Page setup' did NOT change a thing. I put the Margins at 0 & let the computer reset the Margins to the minimum my printer will allow, & nothing changed. Letters/Words are still not there on the right side of page/screen.

Thanks a bunch,
Challie

Here is a responce I had from another helpline.
Any help?
challie

Web site resolutions are very often not designedwith print in mind. Sites with a "liquid" design (where the the layout always expands or shrinks to fill the full screen -- such as Able2Know or Google News) should always print fine though.

There is, however, a simple solution to printing those sites where characters on the right get cut off: Use a different browser. Netscape, Opera & Mozilla all have an option to shrink the page's width to fit your paper size.

One thing that would help a little bit when printing from Internet Explorer is going to 'File>Page Setup' and setting the right/left margins to 0.

Don's Reply: I will try these.

Don's Reply: I already did this. See my last Reply. Did not help.

Many pages have a feature called "Printer Friendly Format" (or something similar). When you click the link, the page opens in a format and size that makes printing easier.

Answerpool has this type of page. Here, you click the AnswerPool "Tools" menu, then "Printer Friendly Format".

And, you can often copy/paste the contents of the page into a Word processor program (like MS Word) and then print the contents from there.

How to copy/paste
