Ok, earlier today I was able to go to all of my sites (the usual) and not have to log in.

tonight, suddenly all of the sites are requiring me to log in.

I did NOT do a adware scan.
I did NOT run a spy ware scan.
I did NOT find a virus.

I DID check to see if all my cookies are there, they are. I DID NOT remove any cookies today.

What would cause this and is this a danger sign that something wicked is going on?

David

A few questions
Has your Homepage changed over David?
Have you got any of the following Programs installed?
Spywareblaster( www.javacoolsoftware.com )
CWShredder www.intermute.com/spysubtract/cwshredder_download.html
Microsoft AntiSpyware (new Title) was GiantSoftware Companies program but has been re released as a free BETA download last week(Very strong) Its a cross between AdAware and Spywareblaster
Both Spywareblaster and the new Microsoft AntiSpyware programs have preset Homepage settings to return the browser to the original setting if need be(works in the backgound)
The CWshredder program "blanks" the Page if there is a detection ! Frown So you have to go to the Internet Explorer Option page to reset the page manually.
The Spywareblaster program is a defence program not a removal program OK?

If after running these programs you still have Problems I recommend that you download and run the scan on this program HijackThis then copy the findings (full instructions in text) Next go to this forum Read top posting (locked) for instructions(have to register to submit)Post your logfile should get a reply within a few hours (busy forum) of what to untick on the list.go to this UK forumDon't be tempted to do it yourself because you tick something it's gone, wrong thing... Then you may have to reload!Frown this is an experts job)
Only use this if none of the other ideas work OK? Hope it does not get this far?

No my home page is the same as always. Yahoo mail entry page. The default for my computer would be MSN Charter Communications.

Nope, I do not use any of those programs you mentioned. I use lava soft Adware program and McAfee Virus scan, Spybot search and destroy.

I am trying to keep the number of programs down to a minimum here Wink Also I worry about programs conflicting and having Computer Wars.

I will give these a try.

Thanks

Are you logging into your computer the same way? If there is more than one user on the computer (with different logins) you would have to log into your sites manually when the other user is logged in.

Are you using the Internet Explorer browser or the Foxfire browser. If you're using the Foxfire browser, you may need to change the security settings.
