I've been getting some STRANGE responses to my internet activity the last few days.

Examples:

1) I was logged in and tried to post to Answer Pool. When I hit the "Post Now" button, I got a notice that said it couldn't find the page, BUT it showed the name of ANOTHER web site that I had visited recently.

2) I was logged in and tried to post. I got a message that said that this part of the forum was not available until I registered and confirmed my email. But my email has been confirmed (days ago) and it was showing that I was logged in. Logging out and logging in again wouldn't work. I finally had to shut down that window, open a new one, and log in again.

3) I don't think it's an Answer Pool problem, because similar things have happened at other sites. Sometimes I've used the "Back" button and gotten an "HTTP 404 Not Found..." for a page that I haven't used in that window (although it's one that I recognize from previous sessions).

I use Windows XP, Internet Explorer 6, dial-up ISP. Sometimes I have several IE windows open at once. I hadn't noticed this problem until just the last few days.

Any ideas?

Click the tools menu (in Internet Explorer), then click the Internet Options, then the "Delete Files" button.

This will empty the Temporary Internet Files folder.

If that doesn't help, please let us know and we can go from there.
