Ok, here's the deal. I got a customer who is trying to change his connection from dial-up to broadband cable modem. He's got WIN98, he's installed the ethernet card, he's got an IP address, he's able to ping out and I can ping him...everything looks great. The problem is when he opens up his browser it defaults to his dial-up. Easy fix, right? Just go to Tools--> Internet Options--> Connections--> Set-up--> and go through the Internet Connection Wizard and set his connection to use a Local Area Network. Simple, right? Only problem is, when we go to the connections tab the Setup Button is greyed out and he can't click on it. I don't know another way to access the ICW and I THINK that's the only way to set his connection to use a LAN. Does anyone have any idea what would cause the Setup button to be greyed out like that? Three years of BB tech support and I've never seen that. My boss is off today and I have no one else to ask. I told the guy I'd do some research and give him a call back. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
