It seems that everytime I run a search I can not get the information I need or desire.

Today I tried finding a site which describes and pictures different kinds of sailboat.

I tried 'Sailboats' I was given a nice selection of boats to buy - not what I was looking.

I tried 'Kinds of Sailboats' and 'Types of Sailboats' and 'classification of sail boats' I got more classified ads, places to buy a sail boat, and junk I just did not want or need.

Is there a secret to using a search engine?

Or am I just using the wrong search engines (Ask.com, Yahoo, AOL)

Hi Dave:
I have to agree with MkStfnz in regards to GOOGLE.
This search engine has always done right by me.
As you'll see, when you follow MkStfnz's link, you can chose to search for IMAGES that match your search words.

Another great add-on with GOOGLE (Available at their home page) is the GOOGLE search bar. This will install under your address bar at the top of IE.
It can also be configured to give you a "Select/ Right Click/ Google Search" from any web page. Very handy. Smile

Google is cool but you might also try Dogpile---it's a search
engine that actually searches other search engines.

Google has a unique tool that makes searching much more effective. When you first type in your search terms and get a huge number of responses, look near the bottom right side of the search results page for a link "Search within results". Click that link and add additional search terms. This will search only within the initial results, which quickly narrows and refines your search.

I prefer Googol or Dogpile. Both have worked wonderfully for me.
