Is there a way to delete cookies for only one site at a time, instead of deleting all the cookies at once?

When I click on delete cookies, it asks me if I want to delete 'all' cookies in Temporary Internet Files Folder. If I click it, will I get a list to choose from, or will they all be automatically deleted? I don't want all cookies deleted.

Windows 98
IE6

Clicking the "Delete Cookies" in the Internet Options will remove all cookies. You can delete only cookies for one site, but you will need to know what the file name for that cookie is.

Cookies are stored in several different locations in your computer: Open the "My Computer" icon, then go to C:\ drive and open Windows\cookies folder.

C:\WINDOWS\Cookies

Then look in:

C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files

Tip: When you open a windows like the Internet Options window, note the Question Mark in the upper right corner. Click that, then click the item you want more information about. A "Quick Tip" will popup with additional information about that item.

Honilov it'll probably look similar to this:
script-wise taking my own Answerpool cookie as an example:
cookie:Ant@www.answerpool
Internally they look full of numbers(how the info is kept) just 1 character is wrong then the site does not recognise you and you have to delete it. Log on again and a new cookie is made unless you set it so they delete every time you leave a site /shut down computer.
No cookies= Manual log ons and possibly No log on with some sites Frown unless cookies are enabled

Thanks Dwight and Bedstor. I did what Dwight said, but when I went to the site, I still had to log on every time I made a post or reply. The problem might be with the site, even tho the administrator told me to delete the cookies through Preferences, and re-try. I couldn't even find preference and that's why I asked here. Frown
I am still very computer-dumb. Frown

I really appreciate your replies and I think I'll kick that site to the curb.

Hi honilov.

That administrator was using Netscape, most likely. In Internet Explorer, you go through Tools menu > Internet Options to delete cookies and make other changes. (At least, that's one way of deleting them.)

In Netscape, you go through Edit menu > Preferences to make those changes. That's why you "couldn't even find preferences."

So it's not you, it's Netscape. Or, more accurately, it's an administrator who is assuming you use Netscape, too.

...and you are not dumb, honilov, just a Guru-In-Training, like the rest of us.

Thanks MuchWyza for the info. Evidently he did take for granted that I was using Netscape. When I sent him an email stating the problem, I didn't tell him what browser I was using because it never crossed my mind. It still seem like he would have taken this under consideration, and asked, like the people do here on AP.

Thanks for saying, I'm not dumb, but when it comes to computers, I sure feel like it sometimes. Smile
