If you look at my profile you'll see I am a ICQ user.(2 years)
My Opinion? ,Its good,But you have to be prepared to take "Spammy" instant messages. and leave your status(flower) icon in the "busy" mode.
You will get a lot of strangers asking for chats.
But on the credit side you will chat to people in far away countries (I have had chats with people in Hong Kong/Australia/and the US)(Wider audience than Answerpool!)
As regard navigating around the setup and browser. You do need a bit of patience.
If you want an alternative program try
Paltalk? .Here you can talk "live" to people/sometimes see them as well as texting them. All you need to do is download a small set up program from the site (and the public rooms are supervised)always busy,Some ICQ users use this site as a backup.all you will have to do to go live is buy a cheap mike,
the people on the site will help you set it up.

Note Icq is a "resource eater"

so you have to "Exit" ICQ to carry on surfing "normally"

(file size 14 MB)
The Paltalk Prog is "only" 1.3MB big !
