Something has changed in my computer and I can’t figure out why? Confused (Or how to fix it)
When I right click and want to save an image it can now only be saved as a .bmp file, even if it a .jpeg image. (I checked the url properties and they are .jpeg images) There is no option to save it any other way on the drop down menu.
Any suggestions on how I can fix this?
Thanks

Try emptying your temporary Internet Files

Open INternet Explorer

Go to Tools | Internet Options | General Tab

In the Temporary Internet Files, click the Delete Files button

Close internet Explorer

Now try saving the images

If deleting the Temporary Internet Files doesn't solve the problem, you might try this:

Do you have either Microsoft Word or Microsoft Picture It! installed on your computer? If so, try un-installing then re-installing either or both programs. MS Word is likely installed as part of the MS Office Suite of programs.

Both Word and Picture It! contain .jpg image filters (as part of their program) and I think it is possible that un-installing, then re-installing may correct the error.

Also, depending on the version of MS Office, you might see an option to Repair Office. If you see that option, you may wish to run the repair tool and see if that will solve the problem.

Note: neither of these pages are exactly related to your specific problem, but I suspect the cause may the same.

This Microsoft Page has some additional steps you can try: .jpeg filter

Note the information under "More Information".

Also, this Microsoft page: Click here.

I hope this will help!

I'd like to take a minute to welcome putasolutions to AnswerPool and to thank you for your excellent advice you've posted. I hope to be seeing a lot more of your posts!

Thank you for the fast and accurate answers putasolutions and Dwight.

I did what you suggested putasolutions and it worked out fine; I can now save them as .jpeg.

Thank you Smile!
