When I go to AP now it has the annoying habit of listing my name as a member there and present but at the same time showing ' you are not logged in; log in '. Clicking on to 'log in' does not produce any log- in screen; it causes the computer to "think" a bit but then shows exactly as before 'you are not..' but still showing Fred Puli in the list of members present. If I go to 'cookies' and check 'disable' in both boxes, naturally it is cured. Trouble with that is I may need cookies on other sites e.g for online newspapers, when posting on AP. Now is there some compromise which will avoid disabling all cookies of both kinds ? As it is of course I lose the edit function , as not 'logged in'.

I hate to speak from my vast warehouse of ignorance but the butterfly allows me to keep alist of what cookies I want to preserve. Can't use paypal, for example, without cookies.
