I am on most of the instant messengers. Lately I have had a problem. I get messages from 2 people who susposedly have proof of me cheating on my husband. In these conversations personal things about me actually come up. However, I do not cheat and am not worried about that. I do want to know how they know things about me (This one is not very long, but I wanted to give an idea). This has only happened on Yahoo. Here is one such conversation with the names deleted.

Also, a friend of mine has been getting crude messages from me (on AOL) that I am not sending. Is my computer hacked? What is going on, how do I stop this?

Please help me before I go nuts.

I would go to yahoo or hotmail and get a new email. That is an easy way to forget about the problems on that account, maybe the harrasser will tire and give up.

Get a FireWall to keep hackers out of your system!

You are making a basic mistake by holding a conversation with this piece of crap.
The more you tell the more they know about you.
Unless they are being specific ie know your home address details, your full name.Then this Is a con.They are just trying to get Information about you, To use against yourself with the sole purpose of scareing you
You should report this matter to Yahoo,So they can back track and hopefully do something about this person.
Second change your yahoo account.

Do not give out your ID until you know and are comfortable with whoever you talk to.

I can't find the free model. I saw a free link and clicked and it said something along the lines of "get it now for $49.95"--

I did get a new yahoo account and guess that I will do the same for AIM because a small amount of friends are still getting messages such as "f'ing slut" and what not...however, these do not appear on my timestamps. Isn't that stange? I do use Trillian, could that be the source of my problem?

Dwight, with some looking, I did find the free version and within 30 minutes had 25 intrusions...

is that a high number? I am illiterate at this matter please forgive me.
