Out of curiosity I typed "cookies" into the "files/folders" section of the Find function. It came up with a Cookies folder that was chock-full of cookies labeled either Anyuser@ or Default@. I know that certain cookies are needed for a site to interact with my computer, but I'm not sure how to identify them. Of course I want to get rid of anything that is not needed, so my question is: how can I tell if a cookie is worth saving? Can I dump all the "Anyuser@" cookies without fear of cutting myself off from a "good" cookie? How about the "Defaulk@" cookies?
The cookies main purpose is to hold records like password info and those messages that greet you when you visit a site they are rarely kept on the server only as an account number and log By erasing your cookies all it will mean is that you will have to log on manually for a few days (and this generates more cookies(Paradox?)) But it is worth doing if you think it's worth it (causes no damage to your computer) Open up Internet Explorer locate "Tools" on the top of the screen on the menu click "Internet options" on the window that opens up locate "Temporary Internet files" 3 buttons here 2 delete buttons and the 3rd limits how much space is allocated for temp file storage (my setting is either the 1st or 2nd notch from the left about 500 mbs will be a good starting position depending on how big your disk storage is.(I've got 40 gig and my temp file is set at 1500mbs)About 5% of the disk size might be adequate? "Temp files" load your pages faster they can be deleted no problem also.they hold no data. Press the middle and left hand buttons then press the "APPLY" then the "OK" buttons at the bottom to complete the job and close the page. There are a lot of other Similar questions/answers on these pages click on the search link and type in "temp files" or cookies to find them.

http://www.xcleaner.com Download the free version of XBlock. You can configure it to remove lots and lots of unneed junk. I simply set it to remove all that it is capable of (Check marks in front of all options).
