You can use the Internet Explorer Repair Tool. There are several different ways to access it: Here is one...
1. Click Start
2. Click Settings
3. Click Control Panel
4. Click Add-Remove Programs
5. Scroll through the programs list to: Microsoft Internet Explorer
6. Select I.E. and then click the Add-Remove Button.
7. You will see an options menu.
8. Choose "Repair Internet Explorer".
9. Click "Yes" to allow the tool to run.
10. Restart your computer when prompted.
You can re-install I.E. by locating (use "Find"/"Files and Folders") the file: ie6setup.exe
When the file is found, double click it and it will start the installer. When you see the reinstall option, select it. Note: If the "Windows Installer" or "I.E. Installer" requests Internet Access, please allow it. It will download new components to replace missing or corrupted files.
You can also import your Internet Explorer Favorites into Netscape's Bookmarks.
In I.E., click "File" / "Import-Export".
Export your favorites to a save location like: C:\ My documents
Then open Netscape, and click File/Import. In the Wizard, navigate to your bookmark file in C:\My documents (or where ever you exported the favorites).
Import the file and you'll be able to use them in Netscape.
Finally, there are a number of "spyware" applications that can hijack your Web Browser and cause all kinks of problems. If the repair or reinstall does not fix the problem, please post again and we can try to use a tool called "
HiJackThis" to locate and remove problem program files and registry settings.
I hope this helps!
